**Minimum qualifications:**
* 6 years of experience in a management consulting, operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital or private equity role, or 4 years of experience with an advanced degree.
* 3 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
* 2 years of experience developing business strategies or managing cross-functional initiatives.

**Preferred qualifications:**
* MBA or Master's degree in a management, technical, or engineering field.
* 8 years of experience in strategy consulting, software, internet, or early stage technology companies.
* Experience in structuring and executing complex analyses to support strategy in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
* Proven leader with excellent project management, problem solving/analysis, written/verbal communication, and people skills.

The mission of Global Affairs (GA) is to help people around the world by promoting responsible innovation and building trust in the potential of technology. GA operates at the forefront of many of Google's biggest issues and includes the organizations that are responsible for the company’s public policy, legal, trust and safety, compliance, and charitable functions.

The GA executive team is supported by a dynamic central strategy and operations team with a broad range of skills and responsibilities. Leveraging Google’s data-driven approach to make critical business decisions, this team drives key cross-functional initiatives and priorities across GA. Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g., analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g., running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications.

As a Strategy and Operation Lead, you’ll drive strategic projects ranging from long-term strategy development to operational strategy such as engagement models. You will be responsible for co-developing the strategy across a diverse set of businesses within Global Affairs and partner organizations such as Legal and Risk Engineering, Core Labs, Finance, and more. Our team provides thought leadership to a cross-vertical leadership team, delivers business insights, and develops initiatives, plans, and metrics to operationalize the strategy. You will have a strong understanding of Google’s business and be a key contributor to critical initiatives for Global Affairs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

**Responsibilities**
* Work with executive leadership to define, launch, and drive strategic and operational initiatives.
* Work with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders to gather relevant data and conduct business analysis with effective project communication and management.
* Resolve issues to deliver strategic insights and recommendations based on business analyses to leadership.
* Structure and implement operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, and developing final recommendations.
* Develop recommendations through implementation and results.
