**Job Description**

Responsible for managing an IT operations group in the development and/or programming. Oversee projects and manage staff workload to meet deliverables to internal and external customers. May plan and coordinate the evaluation and effectiveness of existing applications/systems/databases and new technologies' feasibility and potential value.

Responsibilities:

* Clarify business plan by formulating specific department goals.
* Establish goals and priorities for staff/area of responsibility consistent with departmental objectives.
* Ensure deliverables are on target with goals, make modifications, and adapt to organizational goals or direction changes.
* May be responsible for team formations and associated assignments to accomplish work.
* Review accomplishments and direct progress toward goals.
* May participate in developing longer-term goals with upper management.
* Align processes with department goals.
* Review the information and take corrective action to maintain service levels and deliverables.
* Benchmark best practices and integrate them into existing processes.
* May define overall work processes for group tasks and identify better ways to perform work.
* Operate within a pre-established budget.
* Control costs by managing internal resources and containing expenses.
* Assesses resource needs (materials, tools, information) and allocates in accordance with the budget. Review expenses and prepares approval request within the authority.
* Have input into future budget recommendations with senior management.
* Articulate the interface between business objectives and departmental product and service goals.
* Develop processes for producing management reports, statistics, performance measures, etc.
* Provide continual, constructive feedback on performance results against departmental goals to senior management.
* Define the specific achievement levels needed for department success.
* May establish baseline expectations, monitor results, and encourage the group toward high-level performance.
* Select applicants with the appropriate skills required to perform group functions.
* Appraise performance against accountabilities and assesses development opportunities.
* Establish an environment where staff learns to be self-sufficient, competent, and challenged.
* Coach and monitor staff in continuous performance, improvement, and development.

**Qualifications** **Education**

* 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
* Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to functional work or role

**Years of Experience**

* 7-10 years of relevant work experience with 2-3 years of direct supervisory experience managing a team or functional area OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through comparable years of applicable work experience.

* Able to apply broad work experience and knowledge when analyzing complex problems.
* Must be able consistently to identify critical elements, variables, and alternatives to develop solutions.
* Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions.
* Able to communicate clearly and courteously with those who need to know about decisions/actions/problems.
* Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
* Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, MAC, or other technical tools in completing assignments.
* Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.
* Requires excellent communication skills with the ability to state messages clearly by using language that is easy for others to understand.

The national pay range for this role is $95,400 to $194,500 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
