About the position
Businessolver is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in the administration and support of our Linux systems and cloud services. This position allows you to work remotely from anywhere in the United States, providing you with the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for performing daily system monitoring to ensure the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes. You will review system and application logs and verify the completion of automated processes, ensuring that our systems run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will also be tasked with ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization as required. You will provision and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage in accordance with established standards and project or operational requirements. Your innovative mindset will be essential as you research, develop, and implement automated approaches for system administration tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will provide Tier III support for incidents and requests from various constituencies, investigating and troubleshooting issues as they arise. You will maintain and contribute to our knowledge base and documentation, ensuring that our processes are well-documented and accessible. Responsibilities
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.

• Review system and application logs, and verify completion of automated processes.

• Perform ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization as required.

• Provision and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

• Research, develop, and implement innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.

• Provide Tier III support for incidents and requests from various constituencies, investigating and troubleshooting issues.

• Maintain and contribute to our knowledge base and documentation.

• Influence broader technology groups in adopting Cloud technologies, processes, and best practices.

Requirements
• BS in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree.
,
• 5+ years of Linux systems administration and configuration experience.
,
• Strong scripting skills - Python / Bash preferred.
,
• 3+ years of AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, IAM, CloudWatch).
,
• Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions required.
,
• Experience with DNS and web server configurations.
,
• Experience automating infrastructure builds utilizing tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or CloudFormation.

• Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
