About the position
The Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) position at the US Defense Media Activity involves managing cybersecurity requirements for both unclassified and classified networks and systems. The role includes advising management on complex IT security issues, conducting compliance assessments, and developing cybersecurity policies and programs in alignment with Department of Defense standards. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying security requirements and ensuring their implementation within system development plans.
Responsibilities
• Manage unclassified and classified networks and systems cybersecurity requirements.

• Develop courses of action and/or recommendations to the Information System Owner.
,
• Advise management and provide guidance on complex IT security issues.
,
• Conduct surveys, evaluations, and reviews to enforce or assess compliance with DMA and DoD CS standards and policies.
,
• Develop policies, programs, and plans related to cyber security operations ensuring compliance with DoD policy and the Risk Management Framework.
,
• Identify and specify information system security requirements and assist in carrying out in-depth analyses of system development plans.
Requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
,
• Occasional travel may be required.
,
• Must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
,
• Must pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
,
• Must complete the required DoD certifications for DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Management (IAM) level 2 within 6 months of employment.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with eMASS.

• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles.

• Experience in training and overseeing Cyber IT activities.
