Department Overview
Customer Privacy department within PG&E Information Technology organization supports the Safety, Risk, Regulatory, & Compliance Management business function by developing technical solutions for implementing, operating and maintaining compliance obligations with California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Right Act (CPRA) across all software solutions in PG&E.
Customer Privacy IT team manages IT support for Privacy platforms used to deliver on CCPA/CPRA regulations. This includes day-to-day operational support, vendor co-ordination, and day-to-day tasks to manage cookie and consent content in order to meet privacy compliance requirements.
Our mission statement is to safeguard personal privacy at PG&E through comprehensive privacy and data access governance, enhancing controls that protect customer and employee personal information, while raising employee awareness to the sensitivity regarding the importance of privacy.
Position Summary
The Expert Privacy Compliance Product Owner functions as a subject matter expert in the designated technology areas and works to provide strategic operational support and direction for the Customer Privacy IT operations team. Maintain relationships with vendor teams. Produce reports and visual management boards to measure and track KPIs and KRIs. Periodically review and approve, right access to Privacy systems. Daily operational support activities, patching, vulnerability management, and execution.
The Expert Privacy Compliance Product Owner has overall responsibility for supporting PG&E's Customer Privacy business team’s vision by improving service quality, providing root cause expertise, analysis, and quality implementations of the supporting technology, while focusing on reducing costs, increasing productivity, and facilitating organizational and business effectiveness through enabling technologies. The responsibilities include but are not limited to analysis and coordination of operations events related to privacy applications in IT and supporting infrastructure.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
**A reasonable salary range is:**
**Bay Area Minimum:** $ 128,000
**Bay Area Maximum:** $ 218,000
Job Responsibilities
Performs daily and monthly tasks related to cookie compliance requirements for (50-70+) sites:
required monthly script republishes for all URLs in prod and UAT
adding/removing URLs as appropriate
assist teams with scripts insertions
script implementation troubleshooting
troubleshooting monthly cookies scans
coordinating across teams to categorize cookies
proactive troubleshooting of cookie issues
many other daily care and feeding activities related to cookie compliance
many other daily care and feeding activities related to consent management
Provides guidance during day-to-day maintenance tasks to keep the cookie and consent portion of the privacy program functioning smoothly.
Collaborates with teams and leaders to work on issues, projects or activities.
Works to address the needs of Customer Privacy business and develops comprehensive solutions/offerings that address complex needs across all partner teams.
Ensures work in department is carried out using established processes, practices and procedures as directed. \*Note: this means utility and privacy required processes.
Acts as a liaison between various departments and cross-functional teams in regards to cookie and consent topics.
Daily fields inquiries from users about problems with applications/software by assessing nature and scope of issue reported, hands-on troubleshooting, and works to resolve problems across multiple teams including vendors.
Provide operational subject matter expertise on Cookie Consent and Consent & Preference OneTrust modules.
Must enjoy cookie consent and hands-on work across teams in a high stress, high visibility role.
Champion rollout of OneTrust product features.
Translate business requirements from the privacy team into functional requirements.
Maintain enhancement backlog and conduct regular enhancement prioritization sessions.
Prioritize and implement backlog items as monthly compliance workload and risk level.
Co-ordinate with vendor for resolution of any issues needing escalation.
Develop reports/dashboards that will be consumed by senior leadership on the progress of compliance work in IT
Work closely with compliance department and microsite/site owners to ensure the correct cookie compliance scripts are in place
Make sure the cookie compliance scripts and working as designed working with testing teams.
Qualifications
**Minimum:**
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
5 years experience in IT-Information Technology, or other job-related
**Desired:**
BA/BS in Computer Science/ Information Systems, Business, Engineering, etc. or equivalent work experience
4 years experience implementing or using OneTrust Cookie Consent
Exposure to OneTrust Consent & Preference module preferred
OneTrust Cookie Certifications
Proficiency in scripting/coding, utilizing APIs to automate manual tasks
Deep understanding of web application architecture and use of cookies on websites
CIPP/E or CIPP/US (IAPP)
