**Position Overview**
The VP Information Technology directly supervises the day-to-day operations and staff of the Information Systems Department. This position also ensures data integrity and adequate support and maintenance of Credit Union information systems.
**Major Responsibilities**
1. Ensures the optimal day-to-day operation of all information systems to include but not limited to:
* a. Administration of local & wide area networks / hardware,
* b. virtual servers / SAN infrastructure,
* c. core system hardware and software,
* d. enterprise software applications,
* e. line-of-business software applications,
* f. VoIP phone system, and data / phone circuits.
2. Ensures data integrity and security of information systems from unauthorized access.
3. Responsible for Symitar core system operations and administration, including but not limited to:
* a. UNIX software administration,
* b. Symitar software service pack and release installations,
* c. database administration,
* d. PowerOn development,
* e. job execution,
* f. monitoring,
* g. performance.
4. Responsible for developing, implementing and periodic review of Credit Union’s Business Interruption Plan as related to information systems.
5. Coordinates work load and work flow of the Information Systems personnel, makes job assignments or reassignments as required, sets performance standards which will ensure completion of work in a timely and accurate manner.
6. Completes systems upgrades, month-end procedures and other system duties.
7. Evaluates and recommends equipment/software purchases, coordinates the installation and testing of new software, ensures software levels and licensing are kept current.
8. Ensures adequate backup schedule and security are maintained for the core system and Windows and Linux server environment.
9. Facilitates the process of evaluating, developing and implementing products, services and programs related to information systems.
10. Serves as member of CUPS (CU Products and Services) committee. Leads the SCORE (Symitar Core Operations and Review) and TISC (The Intersection Steering Committee) committees.
11. Responsible for developing and maintaining operational policies/procedures related to information systems.
12. Coordinates the training and cross-training of information systems personnel.
13. Administers supervisory support to staff to include: advising, counseling, disciplining, conducting performance appraisals, and scheduling.
14. Manages vendor relationships with various IT related 3rd parties.
15. Administrator and technical support for OnlineAccess home banking / BillPayer / Website, and related / integrated websites and services.
**Required Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a banking or credit union Information Technology industry position.
* Strong knowledge of core system software applications, mainframe type operating systems, ATM / Debit card processing and networks, and internet banking applications required.
* Frequently required to work after hours and on weekends.
* Open minded attitude.
* Able to plan, organize and implement new programs and concepts.
* Requires application of sound decision-making principles, logical thinking, problem resolution, good judgment and analysis; concentration; attention to detail; flexibility.
* Able to handle multiple projects by prioritizing projects and meet deadlines.
* Able to work well with people.
* Able to analyze complex rules, regulations, concepts, policies and implement requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Able to work under stressful and pressure filled situations.
* Basic mathematical skills.
* Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and in writing.
* Occasional business traveling involved, including land and air travel.
* May be required to use his/her personal car to perform credit union business.
* May be required to work at a different branch
* May be required to attend seminars or classes to increase job skills.
* Must be bondable.
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Management experience preferred.
* Familiarity with PCs, peripherals, network infrastructure, Microsoft Office application software, Microsoft Windows and Windows Server, networking concepts, enterprise application software, network security concept a plus.
**Physical Requirements**
* Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 20 pounds.
* Sitting for extended periods of time.
