**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager that will play a pivotal role in the future growth and transformation of SMI by leading the strategy and execution of our payment acceptance and payment gateway solutions. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual with deep expertise in payment processing, merchant acquiring, and digital payments who thrives in a fast\-paced environment and is passionate about building innovative payment solutions that drive seamless customer experiences. You will be responsible for leading the team and projects to support the vision, opportunities and goals set forth by Leadership.

The ideal candidate for this role should have experience in product management, a proven track record of launching successful products, strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of technology and the product development process. The candidate should also have experience in the payments industry and be familiar with digital payments experiences and payment processing solutions.

This location\-agnostic role has core business hours in the eastern time zone. The role will report to the Director of Product Management.

**Key Functions/ Basic Duties:**

* Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for payment acceptance and gateway solutions, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry trends.
* Gathers, manages and prioritizes market/customer requirements
* Acts as the customer advocate articulating the user’s and/or buyer’s needs
* Identify opportunities to enhance payment processing capabilities, including card\-present (CP) and card\-not\-present (CNP) transactions, ACH, digital wallets, real\-time payments (RTP), and alternative payment methods (APMs).
* Stay ahead of industry developments, including PCI DSS compliance, tokenization, fraud prevention, and emerging payment technologies.
* Works closely with engineering, business development, marketing, operations, and support to ensure business case and customer satisfaction goals are met.
* Define product requirements, user stories, and success metrics for new payment acceptance features and enhancements.

* Collaborate with engineering, UX/UI, and compliance teams to drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable and secure payment solutions.

* Has technical product knowledge or specific domain expertise in merchant acquiring, payment processing and checkout.
* Support business development teams with product expertise, contributing to merchant onboarding, pricing strategies, and go\-to\-market efforts.
* Work with compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry regulations (PCI, NACHA, etc.) and risk management best practices.
* Acts as the product’s owner within the company
* Develops the business case for new products, improvements to existing products, and business ventures.
* Recommends or contributes information in setting product pricing.
* Additional duties may be assigned.

**Education and/ or Experience:**

* Bachelor’s degree in technology, business or equivalent experience

* 5 \+ years of experience in product management. Should have worked in payments in a product or operational capacity

* Deep understanding of financial systems, payments, and financial technology domains

* Strong knowledge of card network rules, interchange fees, merchant acquiring, PCI compliance, and fraud prevention techniques

* Experience managing technical solutions from idea to launch

* Experience delivering products built on APIs and complex systems at scale

* Collaborative problem\-solving and ideation in a highly ambiguous environment

* Proven ability to work cross\-functionally with engineering, operations, compliance, and external partners

* Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.

* Deep curiosity for how complex (financial) systems work, and ability to internalize and analyze this information quickly

* Experience delivering quality software that solves business and user needs

* Data\-driven approach and excellent analytical skills

**Language Skills:**

Fluent in English.

**Computer Skills:**

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office. Knowledge and familiarity with Azure DevOps and/or tools that are used for software development
